Appreciation post

As you may have noticed I wasn’t able to post anything the last 2 weeks. I personally want 1 blogpost online every week, but it would be easier for me to succeed at that if I post very small posts like this every now and then. So here is the first tiny article.

This post contains pictures of the sky, as an appreciation of how beautiful it can get. I have about a 100 pictures on my phone that I randomly took during a sunset or when the sky was just simply stunning, but here are my favorites.

You can also use these pictures as a background if you want to!

Travel bucket list

Traveling is one of the things I love most in life and I wish I could do it every day. I always want to discover new places and learn about different cultures and lifestyles. Right now I have never gone out of Europe to travel but I’d love to one day. I feel like traveling can really change your view on the world and expand your knowledge.

I am located right here:ldn

Yes, that tiny red dot in the middle is Belgium. There are lots of places for me to see right? So here are the ones that are on the top of my list.

Japan looks amazing to me, it has amazing futuristic cities but also beautiful temples. It is a totally different culture and I would just love to see it. Even though I’ve seen so many people go there on tv, I want to see it for myself. The contrast between the cities and nature are something I really admire.

To be honest, I don’t know ANYTHING about Chili except for where it’s located in the world. But I remember seeing a picture of it once and I loved it right away. After doing some research it is definitely on my bucket list. The geysers are a must if I ever go there, and also the colorful towns would be in my planning.

Canada seems beautiful to me, I love the look of its nature but also Toronto looks beautiful. I think I would love to take a road-trip throughout Canada to just see everything I possibly can. Niagara Falls, Vancouver, Quebec,… If I ever go there I will take my time because I don’t want to miss one thing.

Kangaroos and koalas would’ve been the reason I wanted to go to Australia a few years ago. But now also Sydney and Tasmania are a few other reasons for me to add it to my bucket list. Fun fact, I am doing a group project on the Opera Building in Sydney for school in a few weeks. So soon I will know a lot more about that.

The last one, although it is really on the very top of my list, New York! (Could I get any more basic?). I have been IN LOVE with New York since forever. The main reason I want to go there is Broadway because I am a big fan of musicals. Seeing a classic like ‘Wicked’ or ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ on Broadway is on top of my bucket list. And also ‘Hamilton’ would be a must. I would really just spend my entire vacation there watching musicals… But besides that, I want to see Central Park, Empire State Building and I can’t forget to go shopping in Times Square! I think New York is beautiful every season so it wouldn’t even matter to me what time of the year I go.

I have to admit, this is just the tip of the iceberg of places I want to go. I would just like to see every place in the world, so maybe I should make a world trip. What are places that you would just love to go? Let me know in the comments!

My evening skincare routine

It’s been a while since I had a real skincare routine, but after doing research about the best products for my skin I have finally found the best routine for me. My skin is VERY oily, there are a lot of imperfections to it. For years I just used products that people said were good, but I didn’t even pay attention to the skin type they were meant for. This is the skin routine that is best for my skin!

If I’m wearing makeup, I will take my mascara off with some coconut oil and then remove the rest with some micellar water or makeup wipes. Coconut oil can be used for anything, and it will make your lashes grow which is great for me because I have tiny lashes.IMG_6660

After that, I’ll wash my face with hot water and then use a tea tree face wash. Tea tree is really just the best for unclear skin, I don’t understand how I could live so long without it. I rinse the face wash off with cold water to close up my pores.IMG_6640

Next, I re-cleanse my face again with either rose water or witch hazel. Most of the times I use both to really get rid of all the dirt on my skin. Usually, I add a few drops of tea tree oil to the rose water to make it even better. I love both of these products because they clean your skin the best but they are not aggressive for the skin.

A tip (that a friend of mine also lives by), don’t scrub every day! Yes, it will clean out your pores but it will also open them up and make your skin more sensitive.

Then for the final part of my routine (it’s not that much I know), I put on tea tree oil. Again tea tree yes. The good thing about tea tree oil is that it’s good for unclear skin, but unlike most acne products, it does not dry out your skin.IMG_6655 The tea tree oil is also my moisturizer for the night, in the morning I like to use a moisturizer by Dr. Van Der Hoog instead because it balances out the oils in my skin.IMG_6649

That was it for my evening skincare routine, but there is more. In the weekends I like to put on a face mask every now and then, I love the L’orĂ©al pure clay mask the most because it freshens up your skin very well.IMG_6644

And then the top rule for better skin, drinking lots of water! I don’t always succeed at this but believe me, it is the best cure for bad skin. Also eating fruit and cutting out a lot of dairy products and unnecessary sugars (these are not things that I do since I love food too much). Always wash your brushes, they can carry a lot of germs and cause pimples! Last but not least, do not touch your face all day long and especially don’t try to squeeze a pimple as it can cause some serious bacterial infections and will only make it look worse.

A disclaimer, this skincare routine is good for MY skin and I am not saying that it will work for anyone else (it might tho). It takes time to develop a routine that works best for you and eventually you’ll find it.

What’s in my bag?

School has now officially started again so I decided to make a what’s in my bag blog post. I love watching what’s in my bag videos on YouTube and I think I am not the only one since EVERYONE makes them. I thought why not join in and make a what’s in my bag post myself.

This is my bag:

It’s a basic Eastpack with only 2 compartments. To everyone that is new in high school, DON’T BRING A GIGANTIC BAG.  I have made this mistake so many times and it’s really just unnecessary, you do not need that many stuff for a day in school.

In the front compartment of my backpack, I only keep a makeup bag that is filled with things like deodorant, a comb, hair elastics, a little mirror, an eyebrow comb… This makeup bag is from Lancome and fits perfectly in the front pocket of my backpack.

In the big compartment, I have everything else: books, paper, my wallet, a pencil case, calculator, tissues and my lunch and phone are in there too usually. Always bring sheets of paper because teachers will say important stuff that isn’t in your books sometimes. You will think that you can remember it but really you can’t. In my pencil case, I keep pens, pencils, highlighters, a ruler and all the other basics.

It is important that you check your bag the night before school! You don’t want to forget important things or take unnecessary things with you. I know backpacks can be super heavy so if you have a locker, use it!

That is all that’s in my bag, throughout the year there might be some long lost papers on the bottom of it, but for now, it is organized. Let’s see how that goes…

Lots of love, M.
